 Dear Customer:
I want to share with you an important announcement that Novell made today.
As you may know, on March 2nd, Elliott Associates, L.P. announced

growth prospects. |

Bill Pray on Elliott/Novell – What Might Happen to GroupWise |
Check out this blog by Bill Pray, previous GroupWise Product Manager, on the future of GroupWise. What-if...
The bid by Elliott for Novell has lead to speculation on what may
happen should the buyout be successful. Blogs from Drue Reeves ( Novell Going Private?) and Richard Jones ( Elliott/Novell: Implications on SUSE)
have highlighted their observations. Having been a former Novell
employee and product manager for GroupWise, I want to take the
opportunity to add my observations on what might happen to Novells
communications and collaboration technologies should the buyout occur.
GroupWise has been a solid, mature, feature rich, enterprise solution for many years. |

Novell - The City of Los Angeles |
This week the Los Angeles city council voted to move forward with a proposal to replace the Citys existing e-mail and productivity solutions with cloud-based e-mail, calendaring and document services from Google.
Like the LA Police department and others, we continue to doubt the economics and security of the Citys decision to move to a Google system. The City Council was presented with clear evidence that Google posed a very significant risk to the security of City and citizen data, much of it highly confidential. In addition, independent financial data showed that the new system will actually cost more, not less. |
